India and Pakistan at Odds Over Shrinking Indus River.
The issues are clearly that India and Pakistan, who are the two leading countries in the textile industry are trying to use the Indus River as a solution to their power problems, and using it to feed cotton crops. They do this by draining and irrigating the river, (canals, pipelines) to feed crops that produce cotton and other textile products. Also, they're building manyy dams such as the Tarbela to collect electrical energy from the hydro power. Along with all of this, the Kashmir glaciers are melting rapidly due to the unusually warm temperatures of Climate Change, (Global Warming). All of this combined proves to be be unfortunate to India and Pakistan as the Indus River is such an important one in the their economy, culture and lifestyle.
